Quilt Retreat

As, just home from our quilt retreat weekend. We all had a great time. This is one of my favorite weekends of the year. We laugh, and eat and laugh, and talk and eat and sometimes we even sew !. I was actually pretty productive. I fused 12 blocks for a fall quilt.
The retreat committee did a wonderful job. We had a scavenger hunt on Saturday, what a riot ! They door prizes were fantastic, I won an Ott Light.

It's so much fun to walk around and see what everyone is working on. It's rare to have that many creative women in one spot ! Show and tell was just awesome, very inspirational.

Now it's back to reality and my diet !

What was I thinking !

I'm working on a wedding present for an architect. I decided it had to be graphic, so I choose the pattern "Wheel or Mystery" and used lots of blues, oranges, yellows and a little pink and purple. The top turned out great. The next step was to quilt it..... I must have been nuts when I decided to do "pepples" all over . It is taking about 4 to 5 hours per row ! The blocks are 12" squares. There are 8 rows of 8.... To make matters worse, I'm using Rainbows thread and it keeps breaking. I'm happy to say, however, that I have only 3.5 more blocks to go !... I am in a holding pattern because I ran out of thread yesterday. I can't wait to get it finished. I'll post pictures as soon as I have it off my frame.

I'm thinking I should have invested in a circle lord and used the spirals. It would have been so much easier and quicker !
